Osadolor Nate Asemota (born September 20th, 1980), also known as Dr. Dolor, is a Nigerian businessman, record producer and entrepreneur. He was born and raised in Benin City, Edo State. He worked as a marketing executive at telecommunication firms Etisalat and Globacom where he rose to the position of manager before founding his first company Global Prime Advantage Solutions (GPAS). Following the success of GPAS, he founded his second company, Dr. Dolor Entertainment (DDE), a record label and music distribution company. Both companies are registered in Nigeria and the United States of America.
EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Asemota was born in Benin City, Edo State. He is the last of six children of Late Chief John Asemota ERO and Late Deconess Esther Asemota. His first name, Osadolor, translates to “God brings about tranquility” in English. It is common with the Benin tribe in Nigeria and primarily given to male children. His father was a succesful business man while his mother was also a businesswoman of royal Benin descent.
Asemota attended Ediaken Primary School, Benin City and received his secondary school education at Edokpolor Grammar School, Benin City. He graduated from the University of Benin in 2005 where he bagged a second class upper in mathematics and economics (Double Honors).
In March 2008, he joined telecommunications company Etisalt as a marketing executive until he left for rivals Globacom in September 2008 where he rose to the position of manager before leaving in November 2016 to concentrate on building his own company Global Prime Advantage Solutions (GPAS). GPAS was founded in 2013 and is a frontline information technology company with key interests in telecommunications. Asemota has always had a strong love for the arts, especially music and in 2016, he founded his second company, Dr. Dolor Entertainment (DDE), a record label, music distribution and talent management company. That same year he signed his first music artist, the exciting Ryan Omo. Other artistes on the label include 19 year old Nigerian-Lebanese diva Vanila and Teniola Apata popular know as Teni The Entertainer.
Asemota is married with three sons. He is heavily involved in charity work, regularly donating cash, food items, toys and equipment to orphanages in Lagos and Benin City. He also gives away thousands of naira regularly on his social media handles to the needy. He is also a fashion icon and describes his style as “diverse, classy, trendy and vibrant.”
In 2017 Osadolor Nate Asemota was named Music Personality of The Year at the South South Music Awards. Also awarded the best innovative record label by Lagos State Eti-Osa Achievers Merit Award.
